This virtual journey highlights the dynamic energy and emotional intensity that define van Gogh's iconic style, shaped by his deep admiration for Japanese art.

Peek into van Gogh’s extensive collection of Japanese woodblock prints, known as ukiyo-e, and discover what captivated him about this art form. Van Gogh meticulously studied these prints, analyzing their techniques and integrating their stylistic elements into his own work.

One of the most famous examples of his Japanese-inspired pieces is his series of flowering trees, particularly the celebrated Almond Blossoms. Enjoy this enlightening tour and explore van Gogh’s unique artistic vision—all from the comfort of your home.

Another notable example is his famous painting "The Bedroom." Van Gogh's depiction of the room with its simplified, almost abstract, furnishings and vibrant colors is reminiscent of the aesthetic found in Japanese prints.

Traveling to a physical location, particularly overseas, can be a significant financial undertaking. Between airfare, accommodation, and other travel-related expenses, the costs can quickly add up. Moreover, gaining access to some of the world's most renowned art collections can come with a hefty price tag, sometimes amounting to hundreds before entering the building. Beyond the monetary considerations, there's also the unpredictability of the art world. Imagine making the journey only to discover that the specific piece or artist's work you were eager to see is temporarily on loan to another institution. Such scenarios can be disappointing, to say the least. Recognizing these challenges, we have taken the initiative to compile a diverse range of paintings from various sources. Our digital collections ensure that art enthusiasts can access and enjoy these masterpieces without the constraints of geography, cost, or availability.
