Your Art Historian Rebeca Navarro
Rebeca Navarro completed her thesis to earn a master's degree in Modern and Contemporary Art and the Market, focusing on Remedios Varo. Titled "Remedios Varo’s Passages: Displacement, Transformation, and Transcendence," her thesis explored Varo's artistic journey. Living in New York provided her with opportunities to closely observe Varo's works in various settings: auctions, private collections, and museum exhibitions such as "Surrealism Beyond Borders" at The Metropolitan Museum of Art and "Surrealism in Mexico" at Di Donna Gallery. During her tenure at the Modern Museum of Art, she engaged deeply with Varo's works. Rebeca has also researched and discussed Varo in her podcast, Arte Inclusivo. She has delivered lectures in Mexico, driven by her passion for Varo’s exploration of Surrealism, alchemy, and displacement.
