What Customers Are Saying

Thoroughly enjoyed Stephen's commentary during this art tour.

The Contemporary Art tour was a great experience and Stephen was a great tour guide. He gave us so much interesting information about the artists--a number of things I didn't know, in spite of having taken several post-graduate courses in art and architecture history. I especially appreciated that the tour took us through several places in the National Gallery, including the entry area, where the Alexander Calder mobile is such an icon. Stephen also included the Andy Goldsworthy piece, which is so fascinating. One of the things I learned is that, although the National Gallery's operating budget is funded by the American people through tax dollars that are allocated by Congress, all acquisitions are donations. Knowing this gave me a new appreciation for the extensive collections that the Gallery maintains. I hope Street Art Museum Tours will continue its on-line offerings. I've now participated in 3 tours and as a resident of California I'm looking forward to more of these wonderful experiences. These virtual tours have made me think seriously about scheduling a trip to Washington DC to visit the Gallery in person. I've been there only once and the tours have made me realize how much there will be to see in person.
